Flutterwave and Microsoft have announced a five-year strategic technology agreement.

Flutterwave-1

Flutterwave, a leading African payments technology company, announced today that it is collaborating with Microsoft to build its next-generation platform, which will power payments infrastructure, on Microsoft Azure.

This agreement reflects Flutterwave’s commitment to providing businesses and individuals with access to global-grade services throughout Africa and driving digital transformation globally.

Flutterwave will accelerate the growth of transactions processed on the Flutterwave platform for global clients such as Uber, Netflix, and Microsoft, cementing Azure’s role in facilitating a seamless, reliable, and secure payment experience.

Flutterwave for Business, Send by Flutterwave, Flutterwave Store, and Flutterwave for Fintech Platform are all being developed and moved to the dependable Azure cloud platform.

Furthermore, Flutterwave makes use of Azure OpenAI Service capabilities to scale its product offerings to millions of merchants worldwide.

Olugbenga Agboola, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave, stated that Microsoft has been an invaluable partner, providing a platform that allows us to consistently provide high-quality services to our clients.

“As we manage high volume  payment processing, particularly during peak periods, Microsoft Azure’s robustness, reliability, and scalability become critical.” As a result, expanding our collaboration with Microsoft is the most logical next step for us,” he said.

Flutterwave will continue to drive global commerce transformation by leveraging Microsoft’s diverse and expanding range of services.

Gurbhej Dhillon, the company’s CTO, stated that the company’s development on Microsoft Azure has laid a solid foundation for Flutterwave.

“We have proudly supported Flutterwave’s core operations with Microsoft Azure for many years,” said Microsoft Corporation General Manager Mike Gaal. Through this expanded collaboration, we are excited to further fuel their growth and innovation.

“Our mission is to enable every individual and organization on the planet to achieve more.” Working with Flutterwave will help us get closer to our goal in Africa.”
