UN Reports Record Number of Aid Workers Killed in 2023

In a sobering report released on World Humanitarian Day, the United Nations revealed that a record number of aid workers lost their lives while on duty in 2023. A staggering 280 humanitarian workers were killed worldwide, with the majority (163) meeting their demise in Gaza. However, the crisis in Sudan and South Sudan also saw a significant number of aid workers being killed, highlighting the dangers faced by humanitarians in conflict zones.
